Heather Honey
Our Heather Honey is made from the nectar collected by bees in August. It is 100% natural, raw, lightly filtered to remove wax particles, and sourced from our heather apiary in Abbeyshrule. Heather honey has a strong flavour and jelly-like consistency, and it has been proven to contain beneficial antioxidants and antibacterial properties beneficial for coughs, sore throats & chesty coughs. Our honey is unheated, coarse filtered, and contains pollen particles, so it retains its natural wholesome goodness.
Recent research at Trinity College Dublin and Dublin City University have found that Irish heather honey has a higher anti-oxidant capacity than other health boosting honeys such as Manuka.
Note: Raw honey is not suitable for children under 1 year old.
